Newborn Hearing Screenings
At Doss Audiology & Hearing Center, I strive to offer services to all patient populations. Sometimes, people think of hearing loss as a geriatric issue, but in fact 50% of people with hearing loss are UNDER the age of 65. That’s why under our current umbrella of services, I’ve added comprehensive newborn hearing evaluations.
Most children born in large hospitals receive a hearing screening following birth. For those that do not pass this screening, or for babies born at home, it is important to have an assessment of auditory functioning. This way we can catch hearing loss immediately and begin early intervention measures.
My office has the specialized equipment necessary to test babies while they are comfortably sleeping in a bassinet or their parent’s arms!
